History

Founded and chartered in Montgomery County, Maryland in 1984, Romano & Mitchell grew from a simple working relationship between Andrew Mitchell and Joseph Romano and a recognized need for a more personalized, consultative approach to CPA services.  The result is a focus on providing individual, hands-on service to closely-held private businesses and their owners.

For more than 30 years, we have been dedicated to serving this need and building long-term personal relationships with those individuals.  We are proud to have retained most of our original clients and associates (in fact, two of our partners have been with us since our inception and many of our associates have been with us for more than 10 years) – and to have maintained successful peer review evaluations since 1989.  Though our client base has evolved over the years, our new business relationships have simply served to replace those that have retired, sold or liquidated their closely-held businesses.
